1. If you have
purchased an unfinished door set you must treat it
first. Sand all parts with a medium to fine sand
paper. Treat with a good base stain and leave to
dry. Sand the parts again with fine paper and apply
a coat of finish. Allow to dry and sand the parts
again with very fine paper and apply another coat of
finish. |
2.
Mark the panels for the hinges with a pencil and a
tape measure, from the top of the panel to the top
of the top hinge is 70mm, from the top of the panel
to the top of the middle hinge is 750mm and from the
bottom of the panel to the bottom of the bottom
hinge is 70mm. Pre-drill and fix the hinges. Work on
the first panel, then stack the other panels on top,
fixing the hinges as you go. |
|
|
3. Make a
small 5mm x 5mm square cut out of the back of the
gasket. This cut is positioned at the bottom of the
panels to allow the bottom brush seal to sit inside.
Fit all gaskets, cutting them off 3mm over length at
the hinges. Cut the gaskets square at the top of the
panels. |
4.
Make a small 5mm x 5mm square cut out of the back of
the flipper gasket. This cut is positioned at the
bottom of the panels to allow the bottom brush seal
to sit inside. Cut the flipper gasket square at the
top of the panels. |
|
|
5. Cut the
brush seal carrier to the width of the panel. Peal
of the paper back and adhere in the groove at the
bottom of the panel. Slide in the brush seal and cut
it to the length of the inside of the gaskets. Pin
the brush seal in place by dividing the fins and
pinning in the center. Drive the pins home with a
nail punch. |
6.
Fit the 5 point lock by attaching the top and bottom
shoot bolts first. The top shoot bolt has a reverse
action. Position the lock and mark it at the bottom
of the shoot bolt, under the cover plate. Ensure the
lock is in the fully unlocked position. Cut to
length and reinsert. It is a good idea to bend the
toothed bar on the lock slightly to ensure a good
connection with the shoot bolt. Pre-drill and fix. |

7. Fit the 2
point lock by attaching the top and bottom shoot
bolts first. The top shoot bolt has a reverse
action. Position the lock and mark it at the bottom
of the shoot bolt, under the cover plate. Ensure the
lock is in the fully unlocked position. Cut to
length and reinsert. It is a good idea to bend the
toothed bar on the lock slightly to ensure a good
connection with the shoot bolt. Pre-drill and fix. |
8.
Use some of the hinges provided, and fix them to the
stacking jamb. Mark the jamb for the hinges with a
pencil and a tape measure, from the top of the jamb
to the top of the top hinge is 78mm, from the top of
the jamb to the top of the middle hinge is 758mm and
from the bottom of the jamb to the bottom of the
bottom hinge is 78mm. Pre-drill and fix the hinges.
Gasket the jamb and remove the hinges. |
|
|
9. Gasket the
swing door jamb (if applicable) Once the door
set has been installed you may find that flipper
gasket binds a little, this is normal. To relieve
this, trim down the length about 4mm off the flipper
with a sharp knife. |
10. Cut the brush seal carrier to the length of the
track. Peal of the paper back and adhere in the
grooves. Slide in the brush seal and cut it to the
length of the track. Slide the brush seal out 100mm
and cut off. Position the brush seal 50mm inside
each end of the track. Apply a little super glue to
hold the brush seal in place. |
